Hi! I'm Angela Edwards, a trained illustrator and multidisciplinary artist!
During my 14 year career creating visuals and juggling words as an illustrator, graphic artist, and visual journalist for The Indianapolis Star daily newspaper I worked across a variety of mediums, including photography, digital, and, of course, traditional!
My work in the editorial field, training at Herron School of Art, plus the experience of living a working artists life for over 30 years now, gives me great creativity insights, tools and knowledge that I am so excited to begin sharing with you!

Month 1
The Basics
We start with an Introduction to Materials and Mediums through a combination of excercises integrating Color Theory, Composition, and more.
Month 2
Find Your Flow
During Guided Group Experimentation we introduce a variety of art styles and modalities, so you can determine first-hand which art practices suit you best.
Month 3
The Deep Dive
The focus during this time is on Guided Personalized Art-Making that incorporates the creative art aspects that interest you the most.
Month 4
Revisit, Reflect & Refine
Revisit, Reflect & Refine - We revisit the work we’ve made throughout the session, reflect on our wins, strengths, areas of growth, and areas to work on.

What if I've tried group art classes before?
Large vs. small group; there is a difference!
The difference in working in a small-group setting within a private art studio is like night and day:
You are supported and held by myself and a cohort that is there to learn, just like you!
The personalization you will receive is vastly different than instruction that is divided among a class of many.
As we review your work and I help you focus on the direction you want to go creatively, while building upon your personal strengths, meaning you have the opportunity to advance quicker than within a large-group setting.
How much time will this take?
Ignite your creativity!
The weekly in-person studio work sessions offer hands-on studio time, for up to 3 hours each session, over a duration of 18 weeks.
There is also a monthly 1-hour live video Q&A check-in, and weekly check-ins you can do at your own pace, when it's convenient for you!
Ultimately you decide how much time you will dedicate to pursuing your art practice.
During the intensive it is up to you to create a regular routine outside of the hands-on studio, so your skills develop and advance for the type of art practice that suits you best.
My role is to:
- Help get you started
- Offer skills and creativity guidance throughout our in-person and virtual studio time together
- Hold you accountable when you are outside of the studio, to help ensure you are creating the type of art practice you want to pursue!
Is this program right for me even if I've never made art before?
Absolutely, YES!
This program is designed specifically for individuals who WANT to express themselves creatively, yet haven’t made the time or found the right opportunity to develop their creative desires into an actual creative life.
No prior art experience is necessary!
The program offers a small-group, low-pressure, nonjudgemental environment in which to enter to the creatives world.
It is great for individuals who have no clear idea where or how to start on their type of journey, but have a desire to make art! The perfect participant is one who is:
